Myrna Olson of Thief River Falls, MN, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Sanford Hospital in Thief River Falls, MN, with her loving family at her side.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Ale Tulu officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.  Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Myrna Jeanne (Jensen) Olson was born on November 2, 1940 at home in Hill River Township in Polk County, MN, the daughter of Arthur and Anne (Flathaug) Jensen.  She was baptized at Vernes Church and confirmed at Asphult Church, both near McIntosh.  Myrna attended Lindsay Country School in Hill River Township, and graduated from McIntosh High School in 1958.

On August 30, 1958 Myrna was united in marriage to Richard Olson at Vernes Lutheran Church.  For a short time they made their home in Fosston, MN.  In 1960 they moved to Thief River Falls, MN, where they have since resided.

Myrna worked at Hartz Grocery Store in Thief River Falls.  In 1969 she started working at Washington Elementary as a teacher's aide.  In 1976 Myrna began working for Digi-Key where she worked until her retirement in 1997.  After retirement Myrna and Richard wintered in Apache Junction, AZ and McAllen, TX.

Myrna enjoyed taking many family trips, camping, dancing, puzzle books, bird watching, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends.  She was especially proud of her grandson, Taylor, taking a special interest in his sport of soccer.  She also enjoyed watching over "The Boys," Rusty and Sam, her grand dogs.

Myrna is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Richard; children, Ross Olson of Warroad, MN, and Annette Olson of Thief River Falls, MN; grandson, Taylor Olson; brother, Robert Jensen of Andover, MN; sister-in-law, Hazel Jensen of Fergus Falls, MN; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Willys, Roy (Edna), and Elwood (Pat); sisters, Maureen in infancy, and Vivian (Bill) Miller; sister-in-law, Shirley Jensen.
