Myrtle Casavan, 65, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at St. Eligius Health Care Center, Duluth, MN after a long battle with lung cancer. She was surrounded by her family
Funeral service will be 2 PM, Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend George Davis officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Myrtle Ann Casavan was born September 27, 1940 in Thief River Falls to Arthur and Alice (Lenhart) Lull. Myrtle attended school in Thief River Falls and graduated in1959. Myrtle spent many years working as a legal secretary for various law firms. In 1990, Myrtle moved to Duluth to attend the University of Minnesota. Myrtle enjoyed biology and chemistry and was working toward her degree in these fields. Due to illness, she was unable to finish her degrees but her love of biology never ended. Myrtle was an avid nature lover. She enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours bird watching and walking in the Rose Gardens in Duluth. Myrtle lived in the Tri-Towers in Duluth for many years and was very active in their Garden Club. Plants, flowers and birds were her passion.
Myrtle is survived by her sons, Tim and long-time companion, Jan Siltman, of St. Paul, Brian and wife, Kim, of Alexandria, MN. Granddaughters, Ashley and Laura Casavan of East Grand Forks, MN, Step-grandson, Brent Didier of Alexandria, MN and step-great grandchildren, Christian and Jadelyn Didier of Alexandria, MN, many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and her sister, Jeanette.
