Myrtle Mickey Honebrink, 88, died Monday, September 10, 2007 at St. Benedicts Senior Center, St. Cloud, MN.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, September 15, 2007 at St. John Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Aaron Zuch. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Myrtle Eleanor Geske was born November 9, 1918 at Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of Otto and Minnie (Borgen) Geske. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls. She attended Knox Elementary, Central Middle School and Lincoln High School.

On June 19, 1942, Mickey was united in marriage to Samuel Honebrink in Grand Forks, ND. She was employed for one year in Wilmington, NC and then moved back to Thief River Falls where she has since resided. She worked at the Junior Shop and then Ben Franklin both in Thief River Falls. She also worked at Franklin Junior High, Thief River Falls.

Mickey was a life member of St. John Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls where she taught Sunday School and Bible Class. She served on Inter County Community Service, Oklee, MN and served on the board of Inter County Nursing of Thief River Falls. She enjoyed music, reading and flower gardening.

She is survived by husband, Samuel, St. Cloud, MN; children, Dr. Steven (Marilyn) Honebrink, St. Cloud, MN and Ashlyn (Larry) Hall, Minot, ND; 11 grandchildren: Ivy, Scott, Darren, Steven, Samuel, Molly, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Meghan, Patrick, Kelly; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Alyce Geske, Thief River Falls, MN and brother, Lloyd Geske, St. Paul, MN. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mickey was preceded in death by parents and sister-in-law, Clarice Geske.

In lieu of flowers memorial preferred to Hospice.
