Myrtle Olson, 96, died on Friday, August 25, 2006 at Northwest Medical Center, CNC Unit, in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral Service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, August 28, 2006 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Greg Schram officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Myrtle Cora Quam was born on October 12, 1909 in Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of Ole S. and Clara (Hoyum) Quam. She was baptized in Thief River Falls, MN and confirmed at a rural Lutheran Church, near Goodridge, MN. She attended Lundwood School in Reiner Township.

Myrtle was united in marriage to Eno G. Olson in 1925. Myrtle worked for 19 years in the Dietary Department of Northwest Medical Center, 3 years at Arctic Cat and several years with Tri Valley Housekeeping Program, where she was recognized with an award for service in 1992. She also worked for a local Motel for a number of years.

She enjoyed doing hand work, especially knitting gloves, mittens and socks and she loved to read. She was a devoted mother and enjoyed her grandchildren coming to visit. Myrtle was a dedicated prayer warrior for her family and her church and had a strong faith in God.

Myrtle was a long standing charter member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two children: Stanley (Lorraine) Olson of Big Lake, MN and Barbara (Jerome) Fletcher of Hibbing, MN; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Lewis (Dorothy) Quam of Goodridge, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Eno; one daughter, Mabel Paulson; one son, Kenneth Olson; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; her parents; brothers: Albert, Oscar, Carl, Morris and Walter; and one sister, Lyla Krosch..
