Myrtle Skalet, 90, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Karlstad Nursing Home, Karlstad, MN.

The funeral to celebrate Myrtle's life will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday September 24, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Robert Dahlen officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery, rural Oklee, MN.

Myrtle Skalet was born April 8, 1930 in Mayfield Township, Pennington County, MN the daughter of Arthur and Oline "Lena" (Warstad) Skalet and identical twin to Muriel.  She grew up on the family farm in Mayfield Township and has lived in Plummer, MN, Red Lake Falls, MN, Argyle, MN, Faribault, MN, Fergus Falls, MN, Thief River Falls, MN and most recently Karlstad, MN.

She had a spunky personality, loved lefse, donuts, chocolate, stuffed animals, listening to music and celebrating her birthday!

Survivors include many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her siblings, Muriel (2017), Thilda (2016) (Olaf) Haugen and Alton (1979) (Evelyn) Skallet, Selma (1989) (Carl) Peterson, Gladys (2001) (Harold) Walseth, Stella (2015) (Edwin) Halvorson and Helen (2016) (John Cardella & Ed Sampley) Sampley.
