Nadine Johnson Plummer, MN, died Friday June 5, 2015 with her loving children by her side, at Hutchinson Health Care in Hutchinson, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM on Friday, June 12, 2015 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert presiding. Burial will follow at St. Vincent De Paul Cemetery in Plummer, MN. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Friday, June 12, 2015 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. Nadine Ruth Maney was born July 30, 1924 in Grygla, MN daughter of John and Carrie (Schneider) Maney. She was raised in Plummer MN and attended school there graduating in 1942. After graduating she moved to San Diego where she worked as a telephone operator and also worked at Consolidated Aircraft helping build the B-24 bomber during WWII. On November 4, 1944 Nadine was united in marriage to Alvin Johnson at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church parsonage in Plummer, MN and enjoyed 68 years of marriage. The couple made their home in Plummer where Nadine worked for the U.S Postal Service retiring in 1986 as the Postmaster. She spent the past 22 winters in Las Vegas. Nadine was a very caring wife and mother respected and loved by her family and friends. She was a life member of the Plummer Legion Auxiliary, St Vincent DePaul Ladies Guild, and was a past member of the Red Lake County Welfare Board. Her favorite pastime was playing bingo. She is survived by her sister Eileen Hunsader of Janesville WI, children Larry (Paulette) Johnson of Pahrump, NV; Dennis (Stephanie) of Minot, ND; Julie (Kenneth) Wichterman in Hutchinson, MN: Grandchildren David Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Sarah Jenkins, Dennis Johnson II, Sheri Schaefer, Joshua Al Johnson, Kari Rath, Kelli Ahlberg and Katie Wichterman: Great-grandchildren Alex Schaefer, Brooke Schaefer, Juliana Schaefer, Tristan Johnson, Silas Johnson, Dalton Foss, Savannah Jenkins, Kaitlyn Jenkins, Emily Jenkins, Haylie Jenkins, Samuel Rath and Isaac Rath and several nieces and nephews. Nadine is preceded in death by her husband Alvin Johnson, parents John and Carrie Maney, brothers Douglas Maney, Leroy Maney, sister, Gerry Moore, and son Baby Johnson.
