Obituary

Nancy V. Buck, 81, of Thief River Falls , MN died on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls , MN .

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls , MN with Rev. Ben Carlson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls , MN .

Visitation will be held from Noon until 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls , MN .

Nancy Virginia Mathison was born on May 25, 1930 in Superior , WI the daughter of Delphin and Marguerite ( Poole ) Mathison. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. Nancy attended the Central High School in Superior , WI .

Nancy was united in marriage to Carroll E. Buck on September 22, 1956 in Hermantown , MN . They lived for a short time in Superior , WI before moving to Marshfield , WI in 1956 and in 1958 they moved to Glenwood , MN for Carroll's railroad job. In 1961 they moved to Thief River Falls , MN where they have continued to reside.

Nancy worked on the assembly line at Arctic Cat in the 1970's.

Nancy was dedicated to raising her family, decorating and taking care of the house and she loved her flowers and working in the yard. Her house and yard were always in immaculate condition. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She loved decorating and celebrating the holiday with her family. Santa Clause Anonymous was a special family holiday project which Nancy organized which brought gifts to some of the needy families in the community.

Nancy was a member of the Eagle's Auxiliary.

Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Carroll of Thief River Falls, MN; children, Kathleen Meyer of Collierville, TN, Susan (Glenn) Meyer of Thief River Falls, MN, Mark E. Buck of Grafton, ND and Cheryl (Terry) Voecks of Thief River Falls, MN; 8 grandchildren, Michelle, Dawn, Lori, Kimberly, Jeremy, Melissa, Alexis, and Cory; great-grandchildren, Dani, Joshua, Connor, Tyler, McKenna, Shawn, William, Joseph, Grace, Jana, Thomas, Samuel, Wyatt; cousin, Gloria Gerard of Chippewa Falls, WI.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and her cocker spaniel, Pepper.
