Norma Hutchinson of Thief River Falls, MN, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 21, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM, on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Kristin Ostercamp officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM, on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN.

Norma Ann Knutson was born on December 14, 1941 at home in East Valley Township, Marshall County, MN, the daughter of Alfred and Minerva (Lamb) Knutson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Norma attended school in Middle River and later attended the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston, MN.

On April 6, 1967 Norma was united in marriage to James W. Hutchinson in Sisseton, SD. Together they raised their six children: Jane, Susan, Craig, Stacy, Steve, and Noreen.

Norma worked for a number of years at Oakland Park Nursing Home and most importantly as a homemaker.

Throughout her life Norma enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, having a beer every now and then, playing bingo, shopping, listening to country and polka music and most importantly – family adventures and spending time with her family.

Norma is survived by her loving husband, James of Thief River Falls, MN; children, Janette (Jane) (Mike) Klein of Lino Lakes, MN, Susan Asp of Thief River Falls, MN, Craig Hutchinson of Roseau, MN, Stacy Hutchinson of Thief River Falls, MN, Steve (Denise) Hutchinson of Thief River Falls, MN, and Noreen (Bob) Phelps of Goodridge, MN; grandchildren, Melani, Ryan, Jeromy, Grant, Charity, Chase, Avery, and Norah; great-grandchildren, Selah, Arrie, Ethan, Nicholas, Lucas, Chelsey, Annabella, Ava, and Logan; brother, Alfred Knutson; half-sister, Maxine Sumner; many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; half-sister, Shirley; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clyde and Beatrice Hutchinson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Morris and Shirley Russell; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Knutson and Juanita Hutchinson; and brother-in-law, Bernard Wells: and nephew Paul Hutchinson.
