Obituary

Norris Trochmann, 84, died on Friday, July 10, 2009 at Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July 13, 2009 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Pastor Jim Erickson and Pastor John Weiher officiating.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 P.M. on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a prayer service at 7 P.M. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment will be held in Bethlehem Cemetery, Agdar Township, Thief River Falls, Minnesota.

Norris A. Trochmann was born on January 18, 1925 in Marshall County Minnesota to Victor and Anna (Wold) Trochmann . Norris was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and attended Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls. He was drafted into the Air Force towards the end of World War II. He was responsible for loading ammo on planes that would take off from aircraft carriers. After returning home he was united in marriage to Eileen Johnson on August 22, 1948.To this union three children were born, Lowell, Linda, and Laurie. The family lived on the Victor Trochmann homestead in Adgar Township. Norris worked as a carpenter for his brother Ernest. He also worked at Peterson Biddick, Land OLakes, and most recently School District #564. Norris found great enjoyment in music and enjoyed entertaining others by singing and playing. Norris also liked attending Sunday evening services at various churches and fellowship afterward. He especially loved visiting his family and friends and having coffee with the group at McDonalds. He liked working on his farm and had a taste for potato dumplings and lutefisk. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and held a position on the cemetery board for several years. Norris will be remembered for walking the way he talked.

Norris will be deeply missed by his children: Lowell (Lona) Trochmann of Thief River Falls, MN, Linda (Larry) Myhrer of Thief River Falls, MN, Laurie (John) Baril of Warroad, MN; grandchildren Faith Myhrer, Larry Seth (Erin) Myhrer, Marcy (Troy) McQuown, Tammy (John) Weiher, Mark and Matt Trochmann, Robert and Kory Baril; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Emily, and Caleb Myhrer, Isaac, Jack, Elijah, and Katherine McQuown, Jed and Violet Weiher; brother Raymond (Mildred) Trochmann of Twin Valley, MN; sister-in-laws Bernice Trochmann and Ruth Johnson both of Thief River Falls as well as many other family members and friends.

Norris was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen (March 27, 2009); parents; and siblings, Verna, Mable, Ernest, Julia, Clifford, Margaret, and Ansel.
