Olga Konickson, 98, died on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Riverview Hospital in Crookston, MN.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Richard Raschke and Caleb Dunham officiating. Burial will be in Clara Cemetery, River Falls Township, Pennington County, MN.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, February 6, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Olga Johnson was born on December 4, 1910 the daughter of John and Anna (Stayshaugen) Johnson in Mayfield Township, Pennington County, MN. She attended country school in Mayfield Township and graduated from the Northwest School of Agriculture at Crookston, MN.

Olga was united in marriage to Alvin Konickson on November 2, 1938, as part of a triple wedding ceremony with her sister Minnie and brother Palmer at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Mayfield Township, Pennington County, MN. They made their home on a farm in Smiley Township of Pennington County, MN. Alvin passed away on October 21, 1955.

Olga was a member of the Wyandotte Homemakers Club for several years. She enjoyed housekeeping, sewing, gardening, canning, making lefse and flatbread, rosemalling, and bringing items to the county fairs. She also enjoyed crocheting and made afghans for all of her grandchildren and others as well. Olga loved to travel and visited ten different states and made one trip to Norway (Norge). She loved to visit with friends and relatives and really enjoyed looking through all of her pictures and scrapbooks that she put together over the years. She was proud of her grandchildren and always took an interest in their school activities and life events.

Olga moved off the family farm in 1996 to Riverside Terrace Apartments in Thief River Falls, MN. She lived there until 2004 when she entered Oakland Park Nursing Home and then became a resident of Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN, in 2006 where she has since resided.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Leona Konickson of Plummer, MN; step-granddaughter, LaNette (Danny) Osbjornson of Glyndon, MN, grandson Terry (special friend, Kim Kroll) Konickson of White Bear Lake, MN, granddaughter Tracy (special friend, Brian Meckler) Konickson of Fargo, ND; five great grandchildren, Zachary, Ashley and Jacob Osbjornson; Kourtney and Kalie Konickson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; son, John in 2007; parents; sister, Minnie Walhaug and brothers, Tilmer Johnson and Palmer Johnson.
