Oscar Berg was born on August 17, 1910 in Oklee, MN, of Norwegian Immigrant parents, Thorvald and Ragneld (Olson) Berg. He was the second of three children. The family moved to Minnie Township, when Oscar was four years old, where he continued to live until 1996, when he moved into Grygla. In November of 1997 Oscar moved into Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls, where he continued to live until his death.
Oscar loved the outdoors and living on the earth. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid trapper, winning many awards for the prize pelts.
Oscar will be remembered as a very honest man and a man that was not materialistic.
Oscar is survived by his sister, Ann Helgeson of Moorhead, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mabel Smith; one niece, Doris Swenson; and two nephews: Richard Smith and Gordon Smith.
