Obituary

Pamela Hamm, 54, died Friday, January 7, 2005 at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 11, 2005, at Faith Lutheran Church, Goodridge, MN with Reverend Robert Dahlen officiating. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Cass Lake, MN.

Visitation will be 3 " 8 PM, Monday, January 10, 2005, at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN, with a 7 PM prayer service and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Pamela Jean Adkins was born December 4, 1950, at the Masonic Hospital, Chicago, IL, the daughter of John Bruce and Gladys (Radley) Adkins. She was baptized into the Catholic Faith. Her family lived for a short time in Chicago and in 1960, Pam moved with her family to Cass Lake. She attended school there and in 1982 earned her G.E D. at Northland College in Thief River Falls, while taking sales, management and marketing classes.

On August 8, 1970, Pamela was united in marriage to Irvin Hamm in Thief River Falls. The couple made their home in Goodridge where they have continued to reside. She worked a short time as nurses aide at the Thief River Falls hospital, DWs, Goodridge for four years, one summer at Arctic and for 15 years, she ran a day care out of her home in Goodridge. She never had any children of her own but took an active interest in several children in the area. She cared for her aunt, Lois Vezina when she fell ill and took care of her until her death.

Pam was dispatcher for Goodridge Fire Department for 27 years and spent 12 years with Goodridge First Responders. She loved her flower beds, did needle work, decorating and crafts. She also collected porcelain dolls, built and furnished doll houses. She loved to read; she had her favorite authors, but she read everything. She was her own handyman around the house.

Survived by husband, Irvin, Goodridge, MN; step-parents, Joyce and Daniel Morris, Cass Lake, MN; sisters, Joyce Davies, Duluth, MN, Terri Frazer, Cass Lake, MN, Donna Adkins, Park Rapids, MN; brothers, Ronald Adkins, Willmar, MN, Gregory Adkins, Columbia Falls, MT, David Adkins, Bloomington, MN and Daniel Morris, Jr., Cass Lake, MN; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and her special children, Heather Phelps, Rachael Bring and the others that Pam cared for.

Preceded in death by parents, grandparents, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
