Patrick Raymond Halling was born March 18, 1935 at Watertown, SD, the son of Raymond and Irene (Mitchell) Halling. He was baptized and confirmed at Immaculate Conception Church, Watertown and also attended the church school. He served his country in the United States Army and Air Force, where he retired after 23 years, having served in Korea and Viet Nam. He also worked for Milenders Mail Service for 20 years.

On September 21, 1957, Patrick was united in marriage to Jeanet (Jan) Aschberger.

Patrick was a member of St. Bernards Church and a life member of the VFW. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, coin collecting and watching the Minnesota Vikings. Most of all he especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

(fiance, Chad Schroth) Halling, Thief River Falls, MN; 13 grandchildren, Travis and Kayla Halling, NeCol (Gutterud), Rob, Andrew, Daniel and Alyssa Cartier, Amanda and Michelle Noreen, Elizabeth, Kristina and Johnathan Dahle and Tessah Marie Halling; 2 great grandchildren, Hannah Cartier and Jacob Gutterud; grandparents, William and Mary Halling and Peter and Agnes Mitchell; brother Dennis Halling, Watertown, SD; sister, Rita (Bill) Chase, Watertown, SD.
