Patrick Hanson of Red Lake Falls, MN died on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at his rural Red Lake Falls home surrounded by his loving family. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Chuck Huck Officiating. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery near Red Lake Falls, MN. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, 5 - 8 pm with a 7:00 PM prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN and also one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Patrick Henry Hanson was born March 1, 1939 at Crookston, MN son of the late John Owen and Annie Ann (Kuchan) Hanson. He was raised West of Red Lake Falls and attended St. Joseph Elementary, Washington Elementary and Lafayette High School graduating in 1957. Pat served in the National Guard from 1961 to 1967. On April 16, 1966 he was united in marriage to Paulette Kalinoski at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Terrebonne, MN. The couple lived on Pat's home farm for ten years prior to purchasing their home in 1977 East of Red Lake Falls where they continued to farm and have since resided. Pat enjoyed gardening, metal work, yard work, cooking and spending time on the computer. He was a member of the Farmers Union Board, St. Joseph Parish Council member, Parish Maintenance Committee, Red Lake Falls volunteer ambulance service and was church usher. Pat is survived by his wife of 47 years Paulette Hanson of Red Lake Falls, MN; sons Scott Patrick (Mary) Hanson of Rochester, MN and Timothy John (Fiancé Sandra) of Golden Valley, MN; grandchildren Nathan Carl Hanson, Joshua Scott Hanson and Julianne Christine Hanson: brothers Joe (Shirley) Hanson of Red Lake Falls, MN, Paul (Kathleen) Hanson of Crookston, MN, and John H. Hanson of Red Lake Falls, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents John O. and Annie A. Hanson, an infant brother, father and mother-in-law Leo and Marcy Kalinoski. Pat regretted he was not able to thank everyone personally for the prayers, cards, and phone calls he received during his illness. He was overwhelmed with the thoughtfulness of everyone.
