Patrick Mayernik, 53, died at his residence in rural Goodridge, MN on Thursday, June 9, 2011.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at St. Anns Catholic Church in Goodridge, MN with Father Rick Lambert presiding. Burial will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, rural Oklee, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, Monday, June 13, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday.

Patrick Thomas Mayernik was born on February 25, 1958 to Thomas and Marie (Breen) Mayernik at Crookston, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith at St. Francis Xavier in Oklee. He grew up in Oklee and attended school there.

He served in the Army National Guard, stationed out of Thief River Falls, from 1977 to 1999. Patrick farmed with his Uncle Jerome Mutnansky for many years. He also worked at UBC lumber yard, Paul Heaton Construction, and most recently worked for Kotrba Farms.

He was united in marriage to Karyl Jean (Strandberg) Naik on November 19, 2005 at St. Anns Catholic Church in Goodridge. They made their home in rural Goodridge. With this marriage, Patrick gained two beautiful daughters Khunsa and Syra Naik.

Patrick was a member of the Goodridge Lions, Grygla American Legion, Knights of Columbus, active member at St. Anns Catholic Church, mens club at St. Anns. He was very proud of his Irish Heritage and enjoyed shooting slingshots. He enjoyed his King of Beer and Mud. He silently expressed his thoughts and emotions through poetry.

He is survived by his wife Karyl, of Goodridge, two step daughters Khunsa and Syra Naik at home, Mother-in-law Mudder Margaret Strandberg, sister-in-law Rose (Mike) Lorenson and family, brothers-in-law Kevin (Sharon) Strandberg and family, Ryan (Laura) Strandberg and family, his Uncle Larry Breen, and Aunt Theresa Mutnansky and their families. He loved his cousins who he grew up and felt as though they were his siblings.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Michael Mike Mayernik, Father in law Kermit Strandberg, Uncles Emmit Breen, Jerome, Paul, and Vincent Mutnansky, Aunts Elsie (Lloyd) Lubinski, Ruth (Ray) Koci, and Carolyn (Lester) Larson.
