Patsy Johnson, 72, died on Monday, March 2, 2009 at the Thief River Care Center with her family at her side.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Black River Lutheran Church, rural St. Hilaire, MN with Rev. Mark Helgeland officiating. Burial will follow in the Black River Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 5-8 on Friday, March 6, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Saturday.

Patsy Rose DeLude was born on March 15, 1936 to Ted and Laura (Besemann) DeLude in Salol, Minnesota. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith. She was later confirmed at Rose Lutheran Church in Roseau. She graduated from Roseau High School in 1954.

Patsy was united in marriage to Clifton Johnson on March 26, 1954 in Roseau. Patsy was a wife and mother who cared for her family with love. She enjoyed music, dancing, reading, fishing, and her grandchildren. She was a member of Black River Lutheran Church.

Patsy is survived by her husband of almost 55 years Clifton, Red Lake Falls, MN, 6 children: Ramona (Collin) Wickstrom, Chisholm, MN, Edie Johnson, Maple Grove, MN, Dallas (Arla) Johnson, Cheyenne, WY, Roseann (Tom) Ritter, Cheyenne, WY, Joel (Tammy) Johnson, Mooreton, ND, Lester (Teresa) Johnson, Foley, MN, 10 grandchildren, Sueann Wickstrom, Novi, MI, April Johnson, Englewood, CO, Austin Johnson, Pocatello, ID, Amanda (Danny) Champlin, Bowling Green, KY, Cody Johnson, Grand Forks, ND, Corey (fianc Shana Fitzpatrick) Johnson, Grand Forks, ND, Amanda (fianc Josh Holte) Johnson, St. Hilaire, MN, Adam Johnson, St. Cloud, MN, Gayle Johnson, Duluth, MN, Karl Johnson, Foley, MN, 1 great grandchild Taylor Champlin, Bowling Green, KY, brother Leslie Fish, Roosevelt, MN, sister in law Iris Fish, Warroad, MN, brother in law John McLauglin, Warroad, MN, step sister Katherine (Ray) Bruce, Springfield, OR, step brother John (Diane) Thramer, Eugene, OR, brother in law Irwin (Pearl) Johnson, Thief River Falls, MN, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents Ted and Laura DeLude, step mother Edith DeLude, foster parents Minnie and Edwin Starren, sister Joy McLaughlin, brothers Norman (Erma) Fish, Delbert (Laverne) Fish, and Loren Fish, sister in law Gail Fish.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Black River Church.
