Paul W. Mehrkens, 46, died Saturday, June 26, 2004 at St. Anthony Central Hospital, Denver, CO as a result of an auto accident.

Paul William Mehrkens was born January 18, 1958 in Thief River Falls, MN the son of William and Irene (Steinhauer) Mehrkens. He grew up, attended and graduated from Lincoln High School, Thief River Falls and also attended Northland College, Thief River Falls and Concordia College, St. Paul, MN, where he graduated with a degree in history.

He served his country in the United States Army.

Paul was employed in various jobs, most recent as a mover with TLC Cedar Van Lines, St. Paul, MN. He enjoyed sports, hockey, softball, horticulture and writing.

Survived by father, William, Thief River Falls, MN; sister, Peggy and brother, David Mehrkens all of Thief River Falls, MN; grandparents, Walter (Ella) Steinhauer; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceded in death by mother, Irene; grandparents, William and Christine Mehrkens and Alice Steinhauer.
