Paul Trickle, 64, died Friday, July 26, 2019 at Greenleaf Assisted Living in Thief River Falls, MN under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Memorial services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, August 2, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with funeral celebrant Duane Morey officiating.  Burial will follow in Rindal Cemetery, rural Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service.

Paul Kim Trickle was born on November 21, 1954 to Claude and Lelia (Alby) Trickle in Thief River Falls, MN.  Paul grew up in Thief River Falls the fourth youngest of 14 children.  He attended school in Thief River Falls.

Paul worked at Anaconda American Brass in Kenosha, Wisconsin, from 1972 to 1974. In 1973, Paul obtained his welding degree from Gateway Technical College also located in Kenosha.  During his time in Wisconsin, Paul took great pride in restoring a 1964 Chevelle.  He also purchased a home in Zion, Il., in 1974, just before the local economy dropped-- forcing numerous lay-offs for area workers. At this point, Paul relocated to Thief River Falls, MN, after securing a welding position at Arctic Enterprises.

Paul was mentally challenged throughout his lifetime and battled with schizophrenia.  These deficiencies lead to Paul's inappropriate actions and feelings, and also let him live at times in delusion and fantasy.  While Paul was in his 40s, he lived in a couple group homes in Moorhead and Hawley, MN. He eventually was happy to land back home in Thief River Falls where he lived at the Northern Lights Home, and for the past 12 years has been a resident at Johnson's Boarding Home. During this time, Paul worked at the bookstore downtown and at the ODC.   Paul's enjoyments included the outings with the group home, and his Sunday steak suppers with his sister Gloria.  His sisters Mary, Jeannie, and Gaylene have kept a careful watch over Paul during his lifetime filling in the voids and making sure he was loved and cared for.

He is survived by eight brothers and sisters: Muriel (Phil) Pridham, Wichita Falls, TX; Clyde (Pat) Trickle, Gilbert, AZ; Mary (Ronald) Broten, Douglas, WY; Gaylene Berg, Pelican Rapids, MN; David (Shirley) Trickle, Glyndon, MN; Gloria "Jeannie" Simon, Thief River Falls, MN; Gerald (Margie) Trickle, Moorhead, MN, Jim Trickle, Douglas, WY, brother-in-law, Ron Morey, Barnesville, MN; sister-in-law Judith (Wally) Littlefield, Fargo, ND; special aunts Shirley Alby, Sioux Falls, SD, Janet McCoy, Van Alstyne, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Geraldine Trickle and Susan Morey; and three brothers, Larry Trickle, John Trickle, and Glen Trickle, one brother in law Roger Berg.
