Obituary

Paul Walker, 55, died Monday, April 7, 2003 at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Red Lake Falls, MN, after a courageous yearlong battle with cancer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 PM, Friday, April 11, 2003 at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Red Lake Falls, MN, with Father Tim Bushy officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Red Lake Falls, MN.

Visitation will be 5 " 8 PM, Thursday, April 10, 2003 at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Red Lake Falls, MN and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 PM on Thursday at the church.

Paul was born March 22, 1948 in Crookston, MN, to Donald and Florence (Keim) Walker of Red Lake Falls, MN. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Red Lake Falls. He graduated from Lafayette High School in 1966. He attended college in Thief River Falls and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Moorhead State University in 1970. He taught math at the Plummer School until his retirement in 2000.

Paul was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church. He was actively involved in many sports as a participant, as an official, or as a spectator. He enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. He was a sports statistics guru and an oldies music trivia buff. He was an avid fan of the computer game Free Cell and also enjoyed the fieldwork on the farm. Paul very much enjoyed hearing from all of his former students.

Paul is survived by parents; three brothers, Al (Pam), Red Lake Falls, MN, Lloyd (Charlene), Grafton, ND and Brian (Gayle), Eagan, MN; two sisters, Arlene (Derald) Mercil, Argyle, MN and Diane (David) Malcomson, Rochester, MN; also eight nieces and six nephews.

Preceded in death by grandparents.
