Obituary

Pauline Guillemette, 82, died Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.


Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 P.M., Monday, April 14, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Gerald Noesen presiding. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake Falls, MN.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at St. Joseph Church, Red Lake Falls, MN with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer service on Sunday evening and for one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Pauline Lorraine Baril was born May 21, 1925, at Red Lake Falls, MN, the daughter of Arthur and Mayme (Clement) Baril. She attended St. Josephs School and Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls. Following graduation, she worked in Chicago, IL for one year. She returned to work for Red Lake County Social Services until she was united in marriage to Arthur Guillemette on July 3, 1947 in St. Josephs Church, Red Lake Falls. This began her child rearing years, having babies in four different decades. As if this wasnt enough to keep her busy, she also took in foster babies and day cared for others, also spending time with the St. Joseph Womens Guild and a member of Catholic Order of Foresters, and American Legion Auxiliary, many years involved with the areas One Fund Drive.

Pauline liked canning, flowers, plants and having coffee and visits with her friends.

She is survived by 7 children: Jay (Karen) Guillemette, Red Lake Falls, MN, Gail (Arnie) Swiderski, Austin, TX, Tim Guillemette, Red Lake Falls, MN, Jan (Ron) Kennedy, Red Lake Falls, MN, Lori (Dave) Nordby, Missoula, MT, Paul Guillemette, Santa Monica, CA and Marc (Shasta) Guillemette, Red Lake Falls, MN; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Mona Labonte, Grand Forks, ND, brother, Myron "Tim" Baril, Townsend, WI; brothers and sisters-in-law, Chloe (Bill) Cutten, Eden Valley, MN, Georgette Hanson, Boise, ID, John Phelps, Sierra Vista, AZ and Bonnie Guillemette, Moorhead, MN; along with several nieces and nephews.

Pauline is preceded in death by husband, Arthur on May 27, 1992, parents, Arthur and Mayme, grandson, David Kennedy, a sister, Phoebe Phelps and brother, Dale Baril.
