Pearl "Jeannie" Sorenson, 85, of Thief River Falls, MN died peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Newfolden, MN.

Pearl Imogene Laurel Lundin was born on March 7, 1932 in Newfolden, MN the daughter of Arnold and Bernice (Nelson) Lundin. Pearl grew up on the family farm in Sinnott Township, Marshall County, MN near Stephen, an area known as the "Happy Corners". She was baptized and confirmed at St. Petri Lutheran Church in Sinnott Township. Pearl attended school in Stephen, MN. She was known as "Jean" or "Jeannie" her entire life.

On December 2, 1950, Pearl was united in marriage to Clarence "Casey" Evin at St. Petri Lutheran Church. They made their home in Deer River, MN and to this union three children were born, Clarence in 1951, Laura in 1955 and Douglas John in 1959. The couple divorced in 1959.

In 1962, Jeannie settled in Thief River Falls, MN and on August 20, 1964 she was united in marriage to Howard Sorenson. They were married in Fosston, MN at his sister, Marion Skadsem's home. They resided in Thief River Falls and Howard brought two sons to this relationship, Steven and Gregory.

She worked around Thief River Falls at many places including, local department stores and the 1980's began work in home health care. Jeannie enjoyed her work in home health care and eventually retired in her late 60's.

Jeannie loved playing the piano and organ from an early age. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, visiting, having coffee, growing green plants, reading, and shopping.

Jeannie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, and the Eagle's Auxiliary where she held various offices there.

Survivors include her son, Clarence "Corky" Evin of Clearbrook, MN; daughter, Laura "Lori" Johnson of Clearbrook, MN; brother, Richard (Karen) Lundin of Elizabeth, MN; niece, Cindy (Kurt) Klever of Spicer, MN; great nieces & nephew, Trista (Justin) Hegreberg of Spicer, MN, Kayla (Hilliary Hutchison) Klever of St. Anthony, MN, and Jared (Stacie Vonderharr) Klever of Kandiyohi, MN; great- great niece, Saige Klever; and great-great nephew, Ethan Hegreberg.

She is preceded in death by husband, Howard in March of 1985; son, Douglas John in March of 1962; parents; sister-in-law, Bonnie in January of 1991; nephew, Richard "Ricky" Lundin in October of 2011; son-in-law, Tommy Johnson in November of 1993.
