Peggy "Maxine" Reierson of Thief River Falls, MN age 79 died on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at McIntosh Senior Living in McIntosh, MN. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. John Voelker officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Peggy Maxine McAdam was born on July 9, 1934 on the family farm in Thief Lake, MN the daughter of Merlin and Gladys (Beito) McAdam. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN. Peggy attended Thief River Falls schools and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1954. Peggy worked at Kife's Café for a couple of years following high school. On June 11, 1955, Peggy was united in marriage to Vernon Reierson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN. They made their home in Thief River Falls and to this union four children were born, Bruce, Clint, Vance and Dean. Peggy dedicated her life to raising her children while Vernon was away during his military service. In her youth, Peggy was a very good skater, and played clarinet in band. While her kids were growing she was a Den Mother and became a troop leader for the boy scouts. In her later years, Peggy enjoyed playing cards, yahtzee, bingo, working crossword puzzles and dancing. Peggy is a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Cooties, and life member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt, MN. Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, Vernon of Thief River Falls, MN; children, Bruce (Barbara) Reierson of Delaware, OH, Clint (Cindy) Reierson of Hopewell, VA, Vance (Sheri New) Reierson of Port Orange, FL; and Dean (Kerstin) Reierson of Roosevelt, MN; grandchildren, Laura (Ben) Moore, John Reierson, Matthew (Michelle) Reierson, Joey Reierson, Leyna Reierson, Ronan Reierson, and Chay Reierson; great-grandchildren, Stanley Moore and Layla Reierson; sister, Roberta Pratt of Fountain Hills, AZ; aunt, Maurine Bahr and uncle, Arnie Beito; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Merlin McAdam; and sister, Joanne (Delbert) Widing.
