Peter Johnston, 27, of Red Lake Falls, MN passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 of natural causes at his home in Red Lake Falls, MN. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2015, 10:30 AM, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Reverend Gary Graff Officiating. Burial will take place at Six Mile Grove in Lyle, MN at a later date. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, 5 - 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at Bethany Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, MN and also one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Peter Robert Johnston was born September 17, 1987 at Willmar, MN son of Darold D. and Linda L. (Nelsen) Johnston (Peter lovingly called his parents "Old Man" and "Hey Lady"). He was raised in Grove City, MN and baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He attended grade school in Grove City, the family moved to Red Lake Falls, MN where he graduated from Lafayette High School in 2006. Peter was confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, MN. He attended Northland Community Technical College graduating in 2014 as an Aviation Mechanic and with a UAV Certification. He worked for Rhombus Guys, Marco's Pizza, Corporate Air, Jimmy John's and Dakota Harvest Bakery all in Grand Forks, ND. Peter was an avid reader, enjoyed being a video gamer, followed many sports, along with being a history buff. He is survived by his parents Darold and Linda Johnston of Red Lake Falls, MN; brother David (Fiancé Erica Stam) Johnston of Grand Forks, ND; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Peter is preceded in death by his great grandmother Betty Egle, great grandfather Gustave Jorgenson, grandparents Lawrence and Audrey Nelsen, Gloria and Robert Johnston, Cousin Kelli Oswald and other great aunts and uncles. In Lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Bethany Lutheran Church, the Red Lake Falls Library or the charity of your choice.
