On June 27, 1981, Rachel was born to Charles and Joyce (Lindgren) Knapp at Sanatorio Adventista in Asunción, Paraguay. At the age of 3, the family returned to Minnesota.  Rachel grew up in Karlstad with her 6 siblings. Rachel read books to her younger siblings and sparked their imaginations.  She trained as a Gospel Chalk Artist which she used on mission trips to El Paso, TX, and Juarez, Mexico. Rachel learned to play the violin and played in a church orchestra and numerous musical programs with her family. She trained and worked as an EMT in Karlstad, MN.  She also did in-home health care in the Karlstad region. On December 5, 2014, Rachel was united in marriage to Jordan Dahl at Hegland Lutheran Church, rural Karlstad, MN.

Rachel was asked while in the hospital what is the best decision she ever made and her answer was "Following Jesus Christ", and her favorite song, "It Is Well With My Soul".  When asked besides being a wife and mother what are some things you have really enjoyed in this life; her answer was immediately and with joy—hanging clothes on the clothesline! While hanging up the wash, she would often sing or whistle her favorite songs.  Rachel enjoyed sewing and quilting with her sister Rebekah and traveling to Colorado with Ruth and Rebekah.  Rachel was a loving wife and mother.  She was a tender and kind woman who showed care to anyone.

During her 2 ½ year time with cancer, Rachel held on to this verse John 11:4—When Jesus heard that, he said "This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby".  Many friends and family encouraged and supported her and her family during these years.

Left to mourn her passing is her husband, Jordan Dahl, Newfolden, MN; children: Susannah (8), Jeremiah (7), Hannah (4), and Noah (2); her parents: Charles and Joyce (Lindgren) Knapp, Mason, WI; siblings: Phillip Knapp, Wasilla, AK; Peter (Brianna) Knapp, Kennedy, MN; Ruth (Robert) Penegor, Ashland, WI; Paul (Tierney) Knapp, Donaldson, MN and Rose (Tristan) Pankratz, Lancaster, MN; parents-in-law: Jeff and Kathy Dahl, Newfolden, MN; siblings-in-law: Jeanne (Matt) DeCambaliza, Buffalo, MN; and Jonathan (Sophia) Dahl, Sabin, MN; and grandmother: Helen (Loucks) Knapp, Willmar, MN and grandmother-in-law, Dolly Meyer, Canby, MN;.  Also, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by miscarriage Triumph, infant brother Philemon Knapp and sister, Rebekah Knapp; grandparents Harry and Verna (Johnson) Lindgren, and George Knapp; uncle, Carlos dos Santos, and cousin, David Delfosse.
