Rachel Fournier, 83, died on Friday, January 28, 2005 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls, MN.
Rachel Marie LaCoursiere was born on June 1, 1921 in Red Lake Falls, MN, the daughter of Arthur and Albina (Yelle) LaCoursiere. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church and attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Red Lake Falls. She worked various jobs throughout Washington and Wisconsin.
Rachel was united in marriage on October 15, 1945 to Lawrence Fournier in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The couple farmed in the Terrebonne area, where they raised their family.
Rachel enjoyed picking berries, gardening, crocheting plastic rugs, baking and was always willing to help her friends and neighbors with meals.
She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Terrebonne and then St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls.
Rachel is survived by three children: Joan (Robert) Fisher of Moorhead, MN, Roger Fournier of Red Lake Falls, MN and Carol (Bruce) Dailey of Red Lake Falls, MN; five grandchildren: Cindy (Lee) Peterson, Kathy Gartner, Renee (Erik) Evans, Lisa Fisher and Cheryl Fisher-Arauza; eight great grandchildren: Sherita, Jessi, Vincent, McKaylee, Brittney, Brennen, Kara Jo and Kendra; brother, Maurice (Theresa) LaCoursiere of Red lake Falls, MN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Delores and Ted Seibel of Chinook, MT; sisters-in-law, Emma LaCoursiere of Crookston, MN and Lillian Fournier of Chinook, MT; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, on June 22, 1990; her parents; brothers and sisters: Noel Yelle, Omer LaCoursiere, Anna Brault, Odile Hennings, Edmond LaCoursiere and Cecile Cardoni.
