Ramona Lessard, 59, of Oklee, MN died Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Salem Lutheran Church, Oklee, MN with Rev. Robert Paulson and Father John Kleinwachter officiating. Burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Oklee.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Friday, May 21, 2010 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Oklee, MN. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday at Salem Lutheran Church.

Ramona Fern Stoneouse was born on August 14, 1950 in Thief River Falls, MN the daughter of Donald and Myrtle (Rystad) Stoneouse. She was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church, Oklee, MN and attended school in Oklee graduating in 1968.

From 1969 until 1978 Ramona worked at Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls. While working at Arctic Cat she met Larry Trontvedt. The couple was united in marriage on January 17, 1970 at Salem Lutheran Church, Oklee, MN and to this union two children were born, Gene and Michelle. They made their home north of Oklee. In 1978 Larry died in a snowmobile accident.

On November 10, 1979 Ramona was united in marriage to John Lessard at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, MN. To this union two sons were born, Jesse and Christopher. They made their home north of Oklee. Mona was a wonderful wife and mother. Through the years, she worked as a cook at the Oklee School, at High Performance Engineering in Thief River Falls, and at Machinewell in Oklee. Since 2000 Mona and John were involved in trucking Arctic Cat products throughout the United States. With their trucking business they covered the lower 48 states several times over and four Canadian provinces.

Monas most important part of her life was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed riding motorcycle with John, Jim and Myrna; fishing, 4-wheeling, gardening, taking care of her yard, trucking and taking pictures.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church where she was active in WELCA; and was also involved in Relay For Life.

Mona is survived by her husband, John of Oklee; four children, Gene (Darby)Trontvedt of Oklee, Michelle (Craig) Magnell of East Grand Forks, MN, Jesse (Amy) Lessard of Crookston, MN, and Christopher (Leslie) Lessard of Glyndon, MN; eight grandchildren, Cody and Kaytlin Trontvedt, Tanner, Ian, Brock and Carter Magnell, Brea Lessard, Braeden Lessard; brothers and sister, Orlean (Virginia) Stoneouse of Oklee, Donovan (Marilyn) Stoneouse of Thief River Falls, Myrna (Jim) Lessard of Oklee, Ronald (Cindy) Stoneouse of Oklee; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry; and brother, Robert.
