Obituary







Ransom M. Boyle of rural Red Lake Falls, MN died on Saturday, March 13, 1999 at Fosston First Care Hospital in Fosston, MN. Arrangements with Petterson Funeral Home inc. of Red Lake Falls.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 1999 at 2:00 PM at the Presbyterian Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Reverend Russell Harris Officiating. Burial will be held in the Greenwood Cemetery in Warren, MN at 5:00 PM Wednesday afternoon.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 5 " 8 PM with a 7:00 prayer service at the Petterson Funeral Home in Red Lake Falls and for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.


Ransom Milton Boyle was born May 25, 1909 at West Liberty, Iowa son of Milton and Elva (Ransom) Boyle. He graduated from High School in West Liberty in 1928. He bought a farmstead in Louisville Township in 1932 and built a house in 1933. On November 14, 1935 he was married to Alice Babe Campion in Crookston, MN. Ransom worked at a potato warehouse in the 40s and worked at Armor Company in Grand Forks during one winter. At the flourmill in Crookston one winter and at American Crystal Sugar for 25 years. He continued farming during that time until the mid 1980s. Ransom was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Red Lake Falls. He enjoyed making diamond willow canes.

Ransom is survived by his son Gene (Sally) Boyle of Red Lake Falls, MN; great-nephew Jeff (Jody) Kenfield of Red Lake Falls, MN; 6 grandchildren Holly and Dustin Boyle and Jason (Sara), Trevor, Colin and Shanon Kenfield: one great-grandchild Taylor Kenfield. Also many nieces and nephews survive him.

He is preceded in death by his wife Alice in 1994; parents, sisters Edna, Edith, Elva and one brother Myron.
