Rayma Melin, 84, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Oakland Park Communities, Thief River Falls, MN.
Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Monday, at Black River Lutheran Church, Red Lake Falls, MN with Reverend Mark Helgeland officiating. Burial will be at Black River Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Rayma Charlotte was born March 30, 1925 at Crookston, MN, the daughter of George and Neva (Wilson) Hillmon. She was baptized at Methodist Church, Crookston and attended school in Crookston, graduating from Crookston High School.
On March 12, 1950, Rayma was united in marriage to Melvin Melin at the Methodist Church in International Falls, MN. The couple made their home on the family farm in Polk Centre Township, where Rayma became a homemaker.
She was a member of Black River Lutheran Church and a member of Sun Bright Garden Club. She was a foster parent to many children throughout the years. Rayma loved to play Scrabble and usually won. She also liked quilting, reading, gardening and flowers.
Rayma is survived by husband, Melvin, Red Lake Falls, MN; children, David Melin, West Fargo, ND and John Albrecht, Apple Valley, MN; 5 grandchildren, Kerry, Melissa, Andrew, Kristel, and Kimberly; several great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by parents; 3 sisters, Dona, Shirley Jane and Betty; a half sister, Eva and a brother, Rollis.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Black River Lutheran Church Steeple Fund.
