Raymond E. Halvorson, 88, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at McIntosh Manor Nursing Home, McIntosh, MN.

Funeral service will be 11 AM, Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Trail, MN with Reverend Joseph Abrahamson officiating. Burial will be at Nazareth Lutheran Cemetery, Trail.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Friday, March 16, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN with a 7 PM prayer service and for one hour prior to the service at the church, Saturday.

Manual Raymond Halvorson was born February 12, 1919 in Johnson Township, Polk County, MN, the son of Henry C. and Emma (Dahle) Halvorson. He grew up in the area and was confirmed at Nazareth Lutheran Church. He attended rural country school. Raymond purchased a farm with his brother, Edwin, and together farmed until 1989, when Raymond retired and entered McIntosh Manor Nursing Home May 8, 1992. He also worked for Arctic Cat, Thief River Falls for 8 years.

Raymond was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Oklee, since his confirmation. He also was a member of the Farmers Union. He liked to listen to music, play cards and visit with neighbors. Raymond was a care giver for his brother, Clifford who suffered injuries received in war.

He is survived by brother and sisters: Regina Gustafson, McIntosh, MN, Helen Pitchford, Lynnwood, WA, Alvina Jablinske, Lynnwood, WA, Dolores Lee, Bothell, WA and Edwin (Stella) Halvorson, Trail, MN and many nieces and nephews.

Raymond is preceded in death by parents, sister, Clara Johnson and brothers, Clifford, Selmer and Oscar Halvorson.
