Raymond Kolb, 99, of St. Cloud, MN formerly of Red Lake Falls, MN and Mentor, MN passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015 at St. Benedict Senior Center in St. Cloud, MN. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 2:30 PM in St. Lawrence Catholic Church at Mentor, MN with MSGR. Roger Grundhaus Officiating. Burial will be held at the St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery at Mentor, MN. A luncheon will be served Monday at 11:30 AM for all, followed by visitation from 1:30 PM until the time of service at 2:30 PM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mentor. Raymond Francis Kolb was born on November 8, 1915 in Fairfax, MN the son of Julius and Barbara (Palta) Kolb. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith. He attended Mentor Public School, graduating in 1935 and was a part of the first graduating class to have its picture hung on the school's walls. On June 4, 1945 Raymond married Marie (Violette) Kolb. To this union, nine children were born. Throughout Raymond's life he worked as a farmer, was a Mentor Public School Bus Driver, and worked on the assembly production line for Detroiter Mobile Homes in Red Lake Falls, MN. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Pit, Canasta, and Kings in the Corner as well as cribbage. He also loved to read. Raymond spent summers traveling, gardening and picking berries. He also enjoyed making rosaries. Raymond is survived by his loving children, Monica (Jim) Mogen of Aurora, CO, Jerome "Jerry" (Nancy) Kolb of Minneapolis, MN, Steve (Deb) Kolb of Coon Rapids, MN, David (Nancy) Kolb of Andover, MN, Ken Kolb of Denver, CO, Pat (Lynn) Kolb of St. Paul, MN, Dennis (Karyl) Kolb of Joseph, OR, Elaine (Rick) Taufen of St. Cloud, MN, and Gary (Roberta) Kolb of Manassas, VA; 20 grandchildren, Jim Jr., Justin, Nichole, Jeremy, Nate, Kate, Jennifer, Alana, Kari, Jason, Sarah, Daniel, Caley, Tricia, Melissa, Mike, Kelci, Nicholas, Ryan, and Shaun; 24 great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Lily, Jamison, Brayden, Jackson, Talia, Sylvia, Jayln, Kiara, Avary, Addison, Hannah, Paige, Ivy, Cruz, Ace, Caleb, Nathan, Jake, Soren, Madailein, Meredith, Manuel, and Jose. He is preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Barbara; wife, Marie; siblings, Joe, Louis, Julia, Hattie, Agnes, William, Gerhardt "Gig", and Richard. The family would like to sincerely thank all the staff at the St Benedict's Senior Community and CentraCare Health Hospice for their wonderful and loving care of our Dad during his stay first at Benet Place and later at the nursing home facility. Memorials preferred to St Benedict's Senior Community Center, Alzheimers Association or the St Lawrence Cemetery Fund.
