Obituary

Raynold Red Thyren passed away at his home in Thief River Falls, MN on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the age of 87.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Bert Foster Presiding. Burial will follow at St. Hilaire Community Cemetery, Rural St. Hilaire, MN.

Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday.

Ray was born on December 4, 1923 and raised on the family farm south of St. Hilaire, Minnesota. He graduated from high school at Plummer, Minnesota.

Ray lived and farmed on the family farm and he also owned and operated the St. Hilaire Implement Company. He then became partner at the T. and S. Implement Company in Thief River Falls. During that time Ray sold farm machinery to many farmers in the area. After selling the T. and S. Implement Company he owned and operated Thyren Sales in Thief River Falls.

Ray loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed trap shooting and bowling.

He attended the Evangelical Covenant Church in Thief River Falls.

Ray is survived by two brothers, Clifford and his wife, Gunvar of Minneapolis and Kenneth and his wife, Donna of Rapid City, SD, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Julie Thyren; two brothers, Marvin and Donald, and two sisters, Ivanette and Evelyn.

A memorial has been established to the Evangelical Covenant Church in Thief River Falls.
