Reginald "Reggie" Galland, 64, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center, Erskine, MN following a battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM  at Faith Lutheran Church in Mentor, MN with Reverend Mike Sletto and Father David Super Officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Faith Lutheran Cemetery near Mentor, MN.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 – 8 PM with a 7:00PM prayer service at Faith Lutheran Church in Mentor  and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Reginald Dean Galland was born on May 1, 1954 the son of Wilson and Clara (Sveningson) Galland in Crookston, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in Mentor. He attended Mentor Public School graduating in 1972. Following graduation he worked various jobs including the Co-op in Mentor and Prichard Brothers Steel Buildings. In 1978 he started working at American Crystal Sugar Company in Crookston and in 1981 he became year round status. He worked there for 39 years before retiring in January 2018 due to health issues.

On September 24, 1977 he was united in marriage to Janis Marie Olson at Faith Lutheran Church in Mentor, MN. The couple made their home in rural Mentor where they have continued to live all of their lives.

Reggie enjoyed fishing, spearing, deer and pheasant hunting, and target shooting. During deer hunting he loved spending time at North and South Camp. He also enjoyed four wheeling, and playing Texas Hold'em poker. He loved spending time with his grandkids and watching sporting events and collecting baseball cards. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and Ducks Unlimited.

Reggie is survived by his wife of 41 years Janis of Mentor, MN; children Jill (Leif) Kolstoe of Oklee, MN,  Amy (Arick) Broden of Red Lake Falls, MN and Katie (Jason Bachmeier)  Galland of New Prague, MN;  grandchildren Hailey, Riley, Gunnar Broden, Natalie Bachmeier, Ava Kolstoe;  mother Clara of Mentor; siblings Sharon (Bob) Wolf, of Crookston, MN, Bruce (Lorraine) Galland of Bagley, MN; father-in-law Art Olson of Mentor; sister-in-law Sharon (Larry) Hanson of McIntosh, MN, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father Wilson (Jan. 7, 2017) and Mother-in-law Evelyn Olson (May 5, 2004).
