Reino Ray Nenonen, 80, died on Sunday, October 30, 2005.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, November 4, 2005 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer, MN with Rev. Jonathan Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in the Finnish Cemetery, Emardville Township, Red Lake County, MN.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services in the church on Friday.

Reino Eric Nenonen was born May 18, 1925, at his familys farm in Plummer, MN to Martin and Tyyne Nenonen. He attended school at the Finnish School in Emardville Township, and then graduated from Plummer High School in 1943. He entered the US Army during the Korean War attaining the rank of Corporal in the 1437 Engineering Treadway Bridge Company. Ray returned to Los Angeles and worked for General Veneer, for over 25 years. Then retired in 1988 and returned to Plummer, MN.

Ray was united in marriage to June White.

Ray was a Lifetime Member of the Plummer American Legion, Plummer Community Club, VFW in California and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer. Ray will be missed and remembered fondly by his friends and family for his always helpful attitude in maintaining the Finnish Cemetery, where he raised the flag on every holiday; he also helped the church and many neighbors with mowing, raking, and shoveling. Ray enjoyed reading, card playing, and decorating for the holidays.

Reino is survived by daughter Kim (Terry) Bass, Danville, CA; one granddaughter Alexa, Danville, CA; one sister Hilma Korpelia, Ashland, WI.

Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John and Henry, and an infant brother.
