Rhodella Tieman Goodridge, MN, 77, died peacefully on Wednesday April 29, 2015 at Thief River Care Center, Thief River Falls, MN. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Robert Dahlen officiating. Burial will be at Bethany Cemetery, Kratka Township, Pennington County, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home. Rhodella Diane Tanem was born June 28, 1937 at Thorholt, MN the daughter of Ingmar and Evelyn (Holthusen) Tanem. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. She attended the Hovland School near Fourtown, MN. She stayed with Johnny and Lillian Tanem, her uncle and aunt, while attending the Goodridge High School in Goodridge, MN. On October 29, 1955, Rhodella was united in marriage to Elwood Tieman in Goodridge, MN and the couple made their home in Kratka Township, Pennington County. To this union two children were born, Susan and Curtis. Rhodella worked for Arctic Cat for a number of years and worked at SuperOne Grocery Store in the bakery. Rhodella also enjoyed baking and decorating cakes for her family and friends. She was active in the Moccasin Flower Garden Club and 4-H in Kratka Township and always had a beautiful flower garden. Rhodella enjoyed rosemaling, crocheting, cooking, baking, and preparing food for family and neighborhood get-togethers and birthday parties. Rhodella and Elwood also enjoyed many trips to McAllen, TX to visit Wallace and Agnes and their friends. Rhodella was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and was active with the Ladies Aid and had served as president. Survivors include her loving husband Elwood of 59 years; daughter, Susan Tieman of Red Lake Falls, MN; son, Curtis (Jean) Tieman of Goodridge, MN; two grandchildren, Vanessa Tieman of Madison, WI and Michelle Tieman of Ohio; sister, Margie (Charles) Cleven; brother, Larry Tanem all of Warroad, MN; brother-in-law, Wayne (Lenay) Tieman of Bemidji, MN; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Arnold, LeRoy "Mike", Judy and Jimmy Tanem. The family would like to thank the staff at Thief River Care Center for their kindness and caring.
