Dick Smith, 64, died Sunday, August 29, 2004 at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.

Richard Dick Smith was born June 30, 1940 in Princeton, MN, the son of Dick and Dorothy Violet (Hamm) Smith. He grew up all around the country, including TX, AZ, MO and MN. He was home schooled by his mother.

Dick was united in marriage to Beatrice Virginia Lee, July 12, 1963 in Sisseton, SD. The couple lived in Thief River Falls, MN, where they owned and operated a septic tank and drain cleaning business. In the early years they spent winters in Waco, TX.

He enjoyed fishing, making flower arrangements, visiting with his friends and family and loved spending time with his grandkids.

He was a member of Masons and Shriners.

Survived by wife, Beatrice, Thief River Falls, MN; three daughters: Dorothy Rasmussen, Thief River Falls, MN, Beatrice (Daniel) Narverud, St. Hilaire, MN and Tabitha (Ed) Jones, San Antonio, TX; and four grandchildren: Orion Jones, San Antonio, TX, Brittany, Alexandra and Adriana Narverud, St. Hilaire, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
