Richard "Rick" Dwayne Johnson, 67, died on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at his residence in Thief River Falls, MN.

3 PM Graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion, National Guard, and VFW.

Celebration of Richard's life will be held at the VFW from 4 to 6 PM for friends and at family.

Rick was born on October 24, 1954 to Marvin and Lillie (Fogleman) Johnson in Richlands, VA. The family moved to Red Lake Falls, MN in 1968 followed by a move to Bemidji a few months later in 1969. In 1974, the family moved to Thief River Falls, and Rick entered the military serving in both the United States Army and Navy.

In 1973, Rick was united in marriage to Joyce Witten in Virginia; to this union was born their son, Brian Johnson, in 1977. While Rick was in the Navy they lived in California. Rick was honorably discharged from the military.

They moved to Thief River Falls in 1978, where he worked for Woodland Construction. In 1982, they moved back to Kingsport, TN, where he opened his own business, Three Star Motors, and resided until 2010 to be near family. In 1988, Rick was united in marriage to Lois Randolph; to this marriage were born two children—Kristina and Matthew.

Rick enjoyed watching old movies, following the stock market, and online shopping and re-selling. He enjoyed volunteering as a driver for the VFW transporting veterans to their medical appointments. His lifestyle was simple, and he didn't need a lot of material things to be happy.

Rick is survived by his children: Richard Brian Johnson, Kristina (Colleen) Shivers, and Matthew Johnson; siblings: Gary Johnson, Dianne (Larry) Seurer, and Kathi Hermanson; several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by: mother and father.
