Richard L.Bud Evans, 75, passed away May 25 at his home in Clearwater, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 2 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls with Father Tim McGee officiating. A burial will be held at Fort Snelling in St. Paul.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 1 at Johnson-Green Funeral home in Thief River Falls with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral on Monday.

Richard Lewis Bud Evans was born April 5, 1928 in Roseau and raised in Greenbush, Minnesota to Joe and Marie (___) Evans. After graduating from the University of Minnesota, he enlisted in the Air Force and served in the Korean War. On July 20, 1963, he was united in marriage to Mary Mostoway of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Bud owned Evans Steel in Thief River Falls for many years.

He was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Rotary, Elks, VFW, American Legion, and the Chamber of Commerce, of which he was a past president. After retirement he and Mary made their home part-time in North Fort Meyers, Florida, and recently bought a home in Clearwater, Minnesota.

Bud loved golfing, hunting, fishing, playing bridge and pool, and traveling. His family and many friends will miss him for his sense of humor, storytelling, and kindness.

Bud is survived by his wife Mary, Clearwater, MN; son Bob (Mauri), St. Paul, MN; daughter Myra Hayhurst (Charlie), and grandchildren Amanda, Joey, and Sanna Evans and Nicole Hayhurst.

He is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Marie Evans and his sister Doris Martens.
