Richard Hanson was born October 11, 1956, the son of Eddie and Agnes (Torkelson) Hanson, at Red Lake Falls, MN. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran Faith. The family moved to Minneapolis, MN, in 1968, where Richard graduated from High School in 1974.

He worked for many years as an animal control officer for Hennepin County. He then attended and graduated from Minneapolis Technical College with a degree in Network Administration. In 1998, he moved to Thief River Falls, MN.

Richard enjoyed sports and fantasy football. He was a fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, Oakland Raiders and Atlanta Braves.

Survived by mother, Agnes, Thief River Falls, MN; brother, Donald (Pat), Prior Lake, MN; sister, Marlene Hanson, Sauk Rapids, MN; nieces Kari, Lisa and Lee; nephew, Rodney and many great nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by father, Eddie.
