Richard Allen Sorenson, 63 of Grand Forks, ND, died on Wednesday, May 17th, 2023.

Born on July 28th, 1959, in Newfolden, MN. Son of Emil & Edith Sorenson.

He attended school in Thief River Falls, MN.

On November 17th, 1979, Richard was united in marriage to Robin Ann Neelan of Thief River Falls, MN.

They had three children, Michael, Melissa & Chelsey. Richard & Robin lived in Thief River Falls, MN, then moved to Minneapolis, MN in 1980. In 1989 they moved to Saint Francis, MN where they raised their children. Richard then moved to Grand Forks, ND in 2012 to be closer to family.

During this time, he worked as a laborer for a number of years at various positions.

In his free time, Richard enjoyed fishing, bowling, and playing tennis with Robin to keep him busy. He was an avid country music fan, animal lover & fan of old western movies. In addition, he loved watching professional wrestling with his grandson, Nicholas & major fan of the arcade game Ms. Pac Man (Very Competitive!!)

Richard will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. Even though he was a man of few words, he had a great sense of humor & loved his family.

Richard is survived by the love of his life for 46 years, Robin of Saint Francis, MN; Son, Michael (Simone) of Cape Coral, FL; Daughter, Melissa of Milaca, MN; Daughter, Chelsey of Mounds View, MN.

Grandchildren: Nicholas, Oliver, Violet & Scarlett.

Siblings: Delores (Tootsie) McMahon, Thief River Falls, MN James Sorenson of Bloomington, MN; Roger Sorenson of Grand Forks, ND; Linda King of Thief River Falls, MN.

Many cousins, nephews & nieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Emil & Edith

Siblings: Edward, Jerry, Kenneth, Lyle, & Norman.

Funeral Service will be held at Westaker Cemetery in Rural Newfolden, MN on Saturday, June 3rd at 11:00am.

Following the service there will be gathering / luncheon from 1p-4p at the American Legion in Thief River Falls, MN.
