Richard Thorfinnson, 42, of Red Lake Falls, MN died on Sunday, June 14, 1998 at his home in Red Lake Falls, MN of natural causes.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 1998 at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Reverend Curtis Brooks Officiating.

A prayer service will be held on Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM at the Petterson Funeral Home in Red Lake Falls.

Richard (Dick) Vaughn Thorfinnson was born July 5, 1955 at Jamestown, ND son of Vaughn and Mildred (Mohberg) Thorfinnson. The family lived in Lisbon, ND from 1955 to 1963 then in Grand Forks, ND 1963 and 1964 and in 1964 they moved to Red Lake Falls. Dick graduated from Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls in 1973 and attended Northland College in Thief River Falls in 1974. He entered the US Navy in 1975 and was honorably discharged in 1977. He returned to Red Lake Falls and attended NDSU in Fargo until 1987, during that time he worked at Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls. He worked as production manager at ODC and the last four years worked at St. Croix Wood in Grand Forks. He was once married to Tonia Larson.

Dick was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, a member of the Red Lake Falls Lions Club, Legion member and enjoyed hunting, reading and working.

He is survived by his parents Vaughn and Mildred Thorfinnson of Red Lake Falls, MN: sister Kristi Wentzel (Ron) of Fisher, MN: brothers Dennis (Kristen) of Gillette, WY and David (Karen) of East Grand Forks, MN: grandmother Olive Thorfinnson of Lisbon, ND 3 nephews and 1 niece.

His maternal grandparents, paternal grandpa and one niece precede him in death.
