Rick Edlund, 50, died on Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 15, 2003 at the Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls, MN with Donovan Edlund officiating.

Rick Dean Edlund was born on December 3, 1952 in Whittier, California, the son of Arnold and Arlene (Hawley) Edlund. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Fertile, MN and attended and graduated from Fertile-Beltrami School.

On March 31, 1973 he was united in marriage to Dawn Hanson in Plummer, MN. Rick farmed, drove semi-truck, worked construction and worked at the 7-Clans Casino in Thief River Falls.

He enjoyed playing keyboard, cutting wood, fishing, farming, playing darts, dancing and singing karaoke. Rick had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes. He liked being outdoors, driving through the woods and spending time with his family and friends. Rick was an excellent musician.

Rick is survived by three children: Kristen Edlund of St. Paul, MN, Angela Edlund of St. Paul, MN and Ryan Edlund of Thief River Falls, MN; his parents: Arnold and Arlene Edlund of Fertile, MN; one brother, Donovan (Dawn) Edlund of Crookston, MN; three sisters: Susan (Lowell) Ostenson of McIntosh, MN, Sharon Edlund of Fertile, MN and Sandy (Dean) Rasmussen of Fertile, MN; and 25 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Albert and Helga Edlund and his grandmother, Verna Ruhr.
