Ricky Hinden, 52, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Prayer Service will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 7:30 PM at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Rick Alan Hinden was born May 9, 1960 at Thief River Falls of Hilmer and Virginia (Maciniak) Hinden. He was raised there and attended school at Lincoln High School. Ricky entered the US Army and served for two years. Following his time in the service, he spent time traveling and visiting family and friends. He worked for Arctic Cat, the Seven Clans Casino, and most recently as a supervisor for the Howard Johnson Hotel in Grand Forks, ND. In 2002 Ricky saw Ramona Brown at the Seven Clans Casino. He quietly pursued her until 2008 when the two quickly became friends and fell in love. Together they traveled, enjoyed games, and spent time with their families. She became his fiancé and they had plans to be married on March 8, 2013. As a young man, Ricky liked to play football, tell stories, and hang out with the neighborhood kids. He and his brother and sister enjoyed "joy riding" and getting into mischief together. Ricky enjoyed fishing, watching football, and loved cooking. He loved spending time spoiling his grandchildren. His children remember him as a wonderful and caring man. He is survived by his fiancé, Ramona Brown; sister, Betty Bustrack; brothers, Rodney Hinden and Kel Hinden; Rick has raised six wonderful and beautiful children as his own, Dwan White Owl, McKenzie Belgarde, McKay Compeau, Shelly Belgarde, Charla Belgarde, Karla Belgarde; many grandchildren, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ricky is preceded by his parents; brothers, Kevin and Paul Dean; grandparents, Doris and William Marciniak; aunt, Joann; and a cousin, Miles.
