R.J Smith unexpectedly passed away on June 16, 2022 in Wausau, WI where he has lived the past 2 years.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverent Bert Foster Officiating. Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

R.J Smith was born in Thief River Falls, MN on January 8, 1998; son of Candice Miller and Roy Smith.

R.J attended school mostly in Thief River Falls. He worked at Dairy Queen in Thief River Falls and Mentor, MN. He also worked in the Meat department at Hugo's. He enjoyed cooking which lead to his jobs at The Bar and Texas Roadhouse in Wausau, WI.

R.J really enjoyed walks in the evenings. He also enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, video games, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends. But most of all, he loved being around his dog, Laila Marie.

R.J is survived by his mother Candice Miller of Thief River Falls, MN; father Roy Smith of Park Rapids, MN; siblings Katrina Miller of Thief River Falls, MN; Jaydin Smith of Thief River Falls, MN; grandparents Kathy (Kent) LeMoine of Thief River Falls, aunt Holly (Jason) Funk, cousins, Emily and Logan of Park Rapids, MN aunt Crystal (Jason) Cota, cousins Brody and Callie of Bemidji, MN; and many other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather Johnnie Miller, great grandmother Pearl England and great uncle Tom McMahon, uncles, Cline Smith, Duane Smith, and Michael Smith.
