Obituary

Robert Erlenmeyer, of Thief River Falls, MN, age 90, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Viking Covenant Church in Viking, MN, with Pastor Jim Robberstad and Pastor Ollie Urdahl officiating.  Burial will follow at the Viking Cemetery in rural Viking.

A Visitation will take place one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday at the church.

Robert Richard Erlenmeyer was born in Bismarck, ND, on June 6, 1927, the son of William and Mary (Welch) Erlenmeyer.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

At the age of 14, Bob took over one of the family businesses of vegetable gardening with produce sold to area stores and businesses.  When he turned 18 his family moved to Tappen, ND, where they operated a cattle/dairy farm.  Bob was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Tappen, ND, until he moved to Thief River Falls, MN in 1968.

Upon moving to Minnesota he began grain farming.  He also worked at Arctic Cat and Crystal Sugar.

On June 15, 1975 he was united in marriage to Marget Hegg in Puposky, MN.  Together they made their home near Thief River Falls where they farmed and raised cattle.

Bob enjoyed going to auction sales, working on his farm, and spending time with his family.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Marget of Thief River Falls, MN; his children, Della (Donald) Srnsky, Bonnie (Tom) Srnsky, Pam (Curtis) Halvorson, and David Erlenmeyer all of Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren, Kathy Srnsky (special friend Duane Anderson), Kristy (Casey) Anderson, Tracy Srnsky, Jessica (George) Cruz, and Joey (Ashley) Halvorson; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie; infant grandson; grandson, James Halvorson; and infant great-grandson; his parents; brothers, Bill, Harvey, and Tommy; sisters, Ruth Moore, Helen Pratt, and Blanche McCallen; nephew, Warren McCallen.
