Robert Kleinvachter died on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at St. Antony Park Nursing Home in St. Paul, MN at the age of 59 years, 9 months and 22 days. May his memory be blessed.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, September 4, 2009 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert presiding and Father John Kleinvachter concelebrating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Friday at St. Bernards Catholic Church.
Robert Kleinvachter was born on Nov 7, 1949, in Thief River Falls, MN to Adolph and Gladys (Holmstrom) Kleinvachter. He grew up on the family farm in rural Thief River Falls along with his eight siblings. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Bernards Catholic Church and graduated from Lincoln High School.
Robert married LaDawn Rude on June 14, 1969, and they had three children.
He farmed with his Dad on the family farm and then moved into Thief River Falls where he worked at Rude Electric. Later, he bought the family farm and farmed for several years.
In 1983 he moved into Thief River Falls and working at the Eagles Club. In 1988 he moved to and worked in the Minneapolis area, Bloomer, WI, and most recently was living in Hastings, MN.
Robert is survived by his three children: Tami (Larry) LePier, Chad (Sara) Kleinvachter, and Brent Kleinvachter; grandchildren Marissa and Brock Hemmesch, and Grace, Tait, and Ava Kleinvachter.
He is also survived by his siblings James (Josie) Kleinvachter, Arlette (Albert) Friedlander, Carol Sommers, Dennis (Pat) Kleinvachter, Ivadell (Don) Douglas, Ronald (Diane) Kleinvachter, Beverly (David) Hauswirth, Susan Gigstad, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother (Marie Kleinvachter), one sister, several aunts and uncles, and three brothers-in-law.
