Robert Martinson, 61, of Karlstad, MN passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Karlstad Senior Living with his loving family by side.

The service to celebrate Robert's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Stephanie White officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Robert Lee Martinson was born October 26, 1962 to Chester and Arlene (Anderson) Martinson in Karlstad, MN. Robert was baptized in the Christian faith. Robert grew up to man hood in Halma, MN. He graduated from Karlstad School with the class of 1981.

Robert met Kristi Wahlbeck in 1989 and in 1992 they were blessed with their daughter, Katy Jo. Robert and Kristi were united in marriage in 1995 in South Dakota with Katy by their side.

Robert worked for Hilde Farms for many years, then moved on to work for Rusten & Flum Elevator Repair Company through Cavalier, ND. He then became a crane operator for Strata and later Loffler Gravel until he found his passion working for Carlson Prairie Seed Farm in Halma, MN.

Robert lived life to the fullest, he was able to talk to anyone if he knew them or not. Robert's greatest joy in addition to spending time with his loving wife, was his daughter, Katy! Robert loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing, ice fishing, four-wheeling, hunting and especially helping out at the Wahlbeck Hobby Farm.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Kristi of 28 years of marriage; daughter, Katy (Brady) Reierson; granddaughters, Brynlee and Kallie all of Holt, MN; sister, Audrey (Gerry) Korbl of Greenbush, MN; brother, Wayne Martinson of Halma, MN; mother-in-law, Yvonne Wahlbeck of Thief River Falls; sister-in-law, Kathy (Phil) Kreuter of Goshen, IN; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Arlene Martinson; brother, John Martinson; father-in-law, Don Wahlbeck and good friend, Don King.
