Robert Bob Patnode, 55, died Monday, December 22, 2008 at his home in Red Lake Falls, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Chuck Huck presiding. Burial will be in the spring at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake Falls, MN.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, December 29, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service on Monday evening and also at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
Robert Michael Bones Patnode was born on September 29, 1953 in Red Lake Falls, MN, the son of Virgil and Dorothy (Rewertz) Patnode. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church and attended school in Red Lake Falls, graduating from Lafayette High School in 1971. Following High School Bob attended and graduated from Welding at the AVTI in Thief River Falls. Bones entered the United States Navy and attained the rank of Fireman E-1.
Bob was united in marriage to Jerie Sullivan on April 19, 1975 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Bob was a great man with many talents. He worked as a welder in many places, his true passion. He built houses for Detroiter and Homark. He also worked on an assembly line for New Flyer in Crookston, MN where Bob was currently employed.
With all the talent Bob had he enjoyed doing many things, including woodwork, welding, and photography. He enjoyed nature whether it was fishing, walking the trails or traveling. He loved to travel to see nature and experience new things. He was a Youth Hockey Coach and taught welding at the AVTI in Thief River Falls. Bob liked to go to auctions and also liked to draft.
Bob is survived by three children: Michelle Patnode of White Bear Lake, MN, Adam (Kim) Patnode of Oakdale, MN and Jessica Patnode of St. Paul, MN; mother of his children, Jerie Lofgren of St. Paul, MN; two grandchildren, Brianna and Alexandria; his mother, Dorothy Patnode of Red Lake Falls, MN; two brothers, Dave (Toni) Patnode of Green Bay, WI and Ira (Irene) Patnode of Red Lake Falls, MN; three sisters, Theresa Patnode of Red Lake Falls, MN, Sue (Allen) Grove of Glyndon, MN and Rosi (Doug) Lizotte of Burlington, WA and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Patnode; his grandparents; and his aunts and uncles.
