Robert Plante Crookston, MN formerly of Brooks, MN, age 58 died on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 9, 2013 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, MN with Father Chuck Huck presiding. Burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Oklee, MN. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Robert Lewis Plante was born on April 3, 1955 at the Fosston, MN hospital the youngest of eleven children born to Frank Sr. and Myrtle (Charboneau) Plante. Robert was brought up as a Catholic, raised on a farm near Brooks, MN and went to school in Oklee, MN. Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, listening to music, watching movies, talking on the phone with family and friends, gardening and helping around the kitchen and loved plants. He always looked forward to going over to his sister Lois and spending the day with her and enjoyed his favorite meals and baked goodies that she made. Robert worked at the American Crystal Sugar Company in Crookston and worked at Jenson's Mink Ranch. Robert lived in many group homes until he last resided at Northwest Apartments in Crookston, MN where the residents were like family to him and they became his friends. Robert was very good hearted, always giving. Survivors include siblings, Sarah (Richard) Hanson of Clearbrook, MN, Linda Rodriguez of Ft. Worth, TX, Lois Plante of Winger, MN; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friend Alvin Langseth. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Myrtle Plante; siblings, Frank Plante, Jr., Eunice Qualley, Ernest Plante, Judith Olson, John Plante, infant brother, John and infant sister, Verna; and brothers-in-law, Ernest Horn, Leo Qualley, and Earl Rodriguez.
