Robert Verbout Age, 86, Grygla, MN, died on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at St. Clement Catholic Church in Grygla, MN with Father Rick Lambert presiding. Burial will follow at St. Clement Cemetery in Grygla, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:30 PM wake service on Friday, December 14, 2012 at St. Clement Catholic Church in Grygla, MN. Visitation will also be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday at the church. Robert Hippolet Verbout was born on May 3, 1926 at Argyle, MN the son of Hippolet and Hazel (Hill) Verbout. At an early age Robert's family moved to the Fourtown, MN area. He was baptized at Argyle, MN and confirmed at St. Clement Catholic Church in Grygla, MN. Robert attended the Spruce Grove School near Fourtown, MN through the 8th grade and started farming at the early age of 16. On June 2, 1952 Robert was united in marriage to Mary Ann Polansky at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Middle River, MN. They made their home on a farm east of Grygla, MN where they farmed, milked cows and raised their eleven children, Dennis, Sharon, Barbara, Shirley, Susan, Ardell, Lenay, Gerald, John, Roxane, and Dawn. Over the years, Robert also worked planting trees for the Soil Conservation; worked for the Marshall County Highway Department; managed the grocery store in Goodridge, MN; and worked at the Grygla High School. Robert enjoyed deer hunting with his brothers, sons, and grandchildren; making silly games for the grandchildren and playing jokes on them. Robert took special care to provide for his family and always enjoyed making money for a rainy day! Robert was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church in Grygla, MN and served on the church council for many years.
