Robert Walseth, 74, of Plummer, MN died on Thursday, June 02, 2011 at his residence in Plummer, MN.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 6, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Frank Ehling officiating. Burial will be held at Community Cemetery in St. Hilaire, MN.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.

Robert Eugene Walseth was born on August 17, 1936 in Thief River Falls, MN the son of Thorstein and Sylvia (Wahlbeck) Walseth. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. He attended St. Hilaire Elementary School and graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, MN.

Bob served about twenty years with the Minnesota National Guard based in Thief River Falls.

On February 1, 1958 Bob was united in marriage to Jeanette Walsberg in Thief River Falls, MN and to this union four children were born, Ross, Jill, Laurie & Lisa.

Throughout his working career, Bob was a truck driver for Bridgemans, L.B. Hartz, and Thygesons.

In his early years, Bob enjoyed snowmobiling with the St. Hilaire Snowmobile Club. In his later years, he enjoyed riding his three-wheeler, smoking cigarettes, drinking coffee and eating sweets (especially chocolate covered cherries). When it suited him, Bob would take his three-wheeler up to Jims Corner Bar. He had a dry sense of humor and lived by his own clock.

Bob was a member of the Plummer American Legion Post.

Survivors include his three loving daughters, Jill (Craig) Jonson of St. Hilaire, MN, Laurie (Keith) Nelson and Lisa (Grant) Nelson all of Thief River Falls, MN; four grandchildren, Derek (Alison) Walseth, Cody Walseth, Benjamin (Lindsay Johnson) Nelson & Kara Jonson; great-grandson, Kaiden Nelson; sister, Carol Gulbranson of Bemidji, MN; nieces, Renae Bugge and Gayle Surrat; nephew, Steven Bugge; numerous cousins, relatives, friends and the Schwans Man.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and son, Ross in 2001.
